Homeless and Agriculture Program: City of Escondido
The San Diego County agriculture sector is marked as the 12th largest economy in California and 19th largest economy nation-wide, contributing a value of $1.8 billion dollars to San Diego County per year. The City of Escondido takes part in the harvest of crops and, more recently, has faced labor shortages putting a strain on many farm owners and crop providers.
We All Count, City of El Cajon
The City of El Cajon is home to a large Iraqi refugee population. The city faces high poverty rates and low-income levels compared to other cities in San Diego County. Unfortunately, there is very limited information, services, and resources on refugees in the city, and current methods of data collection fail to acknowledge people of middle eastern descent independently.
Sewage and Plastic Pollution in Imperial Beach, California: A Public Health Educational Campaign
Imperial Beach is a city in the southwestern area of San Diego County just 5 miles north of the Mexico border. Community members have protested sewage and trash runoff, odors, ear infections, bacteria levels, skin rashes, and unusual taste in the water, despite governmental water quality testing policies.

The “I’m Home, San Diego” project aims to reinforce current resources for low-income people suffering from mental health and homelessness in downtown San Diego through an easy-to-navigate point-based reward system.
